Little Lovelies

Today was the day of orientation where we walked ALL over the place, and were shown where everything was. We were introduced to the townships (more on those later, be prepared to have your heart broken) we were shown the elementary schools, the crèches (child day care centers, also more on those later) and we went into Cape Town by train. Crazy experience really but at least I can cross it off my bucket list now. J Oh and I also rode in an African Taxi. Which is really just a Scooby Doo van that they shove as many people in as they can. At one point we had 23 people in it. I’m sure there will be many more of those experiences!

Taxi from the back. At normal Capacity. It’s also pretty awesome cause they play African Techno Music.
Then we walked through the Township into the crèches and found these little lovelies.

They were SOOO excited cause we had bubbles! As we walked in their faces just lit up and they all started saying “Teacher! Teacher! Teacher!” It was precious. If you’d like you should take note at how narrow that room is. It’s also only about 8 feet long. It’s honestly smaller than my parent’s master closet and 11-15 kids stay there ALL day. There are two more rooms the exact same size with the same number of kids. And unfortunately this is one of the more upscale creches that they have. More pictures later.

I absolutely love that I caught this on camera! And look at her she doesn’t even care. Too Cute!

This poor little thing has been having a rough time. She’s like a year or so and she had a cut on her ear, eye and she’s teething. I’ll be spending lots of time giving her extra hugs in the next couple of weeks.

I don’t know what this little one had been doing but she had sand ALL OVER! Haha
All the kids love getting pictures taken. If you take your camera out they all start smiling and posing and then they say “Let see! Let see!”

I must say if there’s a cure for homesickness I’ve found it. I have a feeling I’m never going to want to come home!
